School of Business Management 
Diploma in Food & Beverage Business

FIRST YEAR, fundamental and essential food business knowledge in economics, essentials of marketing, principles of accounting, business communication, financial management, human resource management and entrepreneurship.


SECOND YEAR, key culinary skills required for F&B services in food culture, baking & pastry, basic cookery, Asian & International cuisine, stock & sauces preparation, patisserie & desserts and beverage preparation.


THIRD YEAR, essential food service management skills in managing customer experience, purchasing and food logistics, menu planning & cost control, food service preparation, food and beverage services.

School of Chemical & Life Sciences
Diploma in Medicinal Chemistry

FIRST YEAR, students are taught core concepts in physical, inorganic and organic chemistry. They will also be taught the skills in scientific writing and presentation. The aim is to provide the students with a firm foundation of the core subjects and presentation skills.

SECOND YEAR, students will learn the more comprehensive topics in organic chemistry and be given extensive training in essential synthetic, purification and spectroscopic techniques. Students will also learn the mechanisms of medicine actions, which include understanding the properties of medicines, interactions with biological targets, pharmacology and toxicology of medicines.

THIRD YEAR, students will be given training in the analytical instrumentation techniques. They will also learn the current advancement in medicinal chemistry. There are opportunities to work on industry projects on campus as well as through the industry attachment programme. Such attachments include those to local and overseas pharmaceutical and chemical companies as well as research institutes and centres. The projects will allow students to consolidate and integrate the skills and theories learnt during the course by translating them into project deliverables.
